Nicholas Dungan

Nicholas Dungan started his career in the energy sector as an international research and project manager for El Paso Corporation based in Paris, then held increasingly senior international corporate banking positions in New York, London and Paris at Chemical Bank (now J P Morgan Chase), Merrill Lynch, Sanwa International, Société Générale and Jefferies & Company, thereafter advising clients from his own Dungan & Company. As a Jefferies Managing Director in London, he addressed the international corporate finance needs of small and medium-sized companies across continental Europe in a wide range of industries. Overall he worked on more than 100 debt, equity and structured private placements and capital markets transactions for clients from Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, Spain, Sweden, the UK and the US, in addition to Bahrain, Kuwait and Turkey. His experience includes mergers, acquisitions and broad-based strategic advisory assignments.

Nicholas Dungan is a Senior Fellow of the Atlantic Council in Washington DC, a Senior Advisor to the French Institute of International and Strategic Relations in Paris and an Honorary Fellow of the Foreign Policy Association in New York. He has been president and chief executive of the French-American Foundation in New York and an Associate Fellow of the Royal Institute of International Affairs at Chatham House in London. A published author at New York University Press, he is regularly interviewed and published both in Europe (Le Monde, France24, Canal+, BFM, LCI, Europe1, France Culture, Radio France Internationale, RTL, the International Herald Tribune, Reuters, the BBC) and in the United States (the Associated Press, NBC News, NPR, Bloomberg, USA Today among others).

He is a member of the board of directors of the Swiss-American Chamber of Commerce New York Chapter, the Chatham House Foundation and Sciences Po Alumni USA. He is a graduate of St. Paul’s School, Stanford University and Sciences Po Paris.
