Our teams and investors are experienced in business development, mergers, acquisitions, and joint-ventures, in selected countries. We operate with a business model ranging from fee-for-service, to joint-venturing, and various agreements in between.

International market expansion

    Triana has worked with companies through their entire international expansion sequence, ranging from market intelligence and feasibility studies to go/no-go decisions, building market presence with tactical support ranging from trade-shows to online marketing, development and management of sales channels and, selectively, acting as outsourced sales overseas.

    Examples of projects from our team members:

    - Developed sales-reps agreements for a $4 million electronics company seeking to cover new geographic areas (California) and industry verticals (esp. components for medical devices).

    - Helped to coordinate expert team internationally for a 3-language competitive benchmarking project on behalf of executives preparing a new venture within one of the largest international software companies.

    - Helped to identify, recruit, and coordinate industry experts in several countries on 4 continents on behalf of large Russian industrial group seeking to re-assess its global development strategy and prepare for substantial global growth.

    - Under a 2-month notice, assisted a delegation of 10 CEOs to obtain meetings with key executives in foreign targeted market verticals. Result: 3 days, 2 major cities, 71 meetings.

    - Conducted numerous benchmarking studies, pricing studies, need analyses, market studies, feasibility studies for go/no-go decisions, and business plans for project sizes ranging from a few hundred thousands, to $400+ million.
    In addition, our subsidiary EyeCatcherDigital helps its clients with Digital strategies and implementation of best-in-class digital marketing solutions selected worldwide.


International growth capital and joint-ventures

    Examples of projects from our team members:

    - Identified and qualified 200 potential joint-venture partners in China for a midsized US firm, leading to 3 shortlisted companies and resulting in 2 Chinese minority-stake subsidiaries at 1/3 of budgeted cost.

    - Coordinated the strategic and tactical audit of a European ~$60M supplier on behalf of a ~$20B American company and served as on-going interface between the company and the CEO of the problematic supplier for several months to avoid supply-chain disruption, protecting the company from multi-million dollar potential cost, and prepared the ground for an investment into the supplier by a friendly private-equity group.

    - Audited and assisted an underperforming telecom solutions company on behalf of one of the shareholders. Marketing study detected substantial potential for growth building on flagship client (the US Navy), and leading to new engagement to monitor and report marketing and sales activities weekly for several months, support business development, executive recruiting of top-notch business development executive, lead generation. Progress resulted in shareholder’s decision to continue to finance the company.

    - For a midmarket technology company willing to invest up to $10 million to acquire a foreign competitor or downstream channel partner, as initial market-entry: helped to develop two strategic partnerships and related joint-ventures, saving the company most of its investment capital and immediately generating new revenue for the company.

    - On behalf of a midmarket company, developed relationships with foreign strategic partners leading to a multi-million dollar investment from partners to develop foreign join-venture.

    - For a foreign midmarket company, saved $1M investment by sourcing a local partner with synergistic business which provided immediate access to existing assets and strong reference for local clients.

    - For a Scandinavian company, successfully assisted international strategy leading to $8 million Series B financing in the United States.

    - For a Scandinavian company, successfully assisted international strategy leading to $22 million equity financing.

    - For a Spanish company, successfully assisted international strategy leading to licensing partnership with a US manufacturer.

    - For one of South America’s largest software companies, successfully assisted R&D deal with Stanford University.
